The Crates2.bas Program
Mr. Jones is paying you a good salary and keeps giving you important things to do. Maybe it's because he knows you are very good and you get results. He calls you in one morning and gives you another project. He wants you to write a program to use when a delivery truck comes in. He wants to know the percentage of crates that come in damaged. You finish the program called crates2.bas, and now you and your boss are ready to check it out.
Type load "crates2.bas" and press Enter. As usual, when you type list, the program listing shows on the screen. The boss has no idea about all this gobbly-gook looking stuff, but you do. You are proud of it because it uses GOSUB in addition to GOTO. The purpose of this program is to calculate the percentage of crates that are damaged in shipment.
The boss is ready to view your program. Type run and press Enter. The top line is the title, describing the purpose of the program. Look at the next line. As each crate rolls by your computer, you will type Y if it has been damaged or N if it has not been damaged. When all the crates have been checked and entered into the computer, enter an X to indicate all crates have been checked and it is time to print a report showing the percentage damaged.
